| 89) Sally, Wausau. 3 persons. We joined a CSA for the 2nd year and this season we will learn how to can so that we can reduce the amount of 'traveling' our food does, even over the winter. |
| 88) Van Dalfsen's, Wausau. Business 3 persons. At Van Dalfsen's Clothing Boutique in Downtown Wausau, we created cloth bags for our customers to utilize and the option of money back for re-using lightly used paper Van dalfsen's bags. We continue to be conscious buyers of the products we sell, currently we provide customers with organic cotton or bamboo clothing options; one of our lines continues to utilize sustainable energy practices in their clothing production (ie wind powered energy). To eliminate or decrease a carbon footprint, we carry the products of two local jewelry designers, one Chicago based candle maker, and a Viroqua based Bath and Body Business. We use compact fluorescent light bulbs in the store,a recycling program has been implemented and finally, employees take advantage of walking or carpooling to work. |
| 87) Becher Hoppe, Wausau, 27 Employees. We've asked employees to use reusable bowls and spoons from home instead of disposable bowls and spoons for a special event to celebrate Architect's Week with an Ice Cream Sundae party. |
| 86) Becher Hoppe Architecture Group, Wausau, 4 employees. The four employees of the Architecture Group will work with Downtown Grocery to reuse many of the cardboard covers from old three-ring binders from product vendors as a raw material for the store's new reusable grocery bags. Typically, these vendor-customized binders are either reused in our office or discarded. |
| 85) Carla G, Wausau. 20 student classroom West High School. Our Environmental Club at Wausau West High School is involved in many community service activities throughout the year. For Earth Day we plan to do an "All Campus Clean Up" we will be picking up garbage on the entire Wausau West Campus and along the roadside. We printed your flyer along with some other notes for each teacher to share on tuesday during their homeroom. |
| 84) Kristine, Wausau. 2 persons. Several months ago I purchased a drying rack so that even in the winter I can dry many of my clothes using little electricity. This is really easy; racks can be purchased at Target for under $20. |

83) Darien, Wausau. 2 persons. Changing how we do things at home: Replacing all of our light bulbs with flourescent bulbs. Stopped buying bottled water. Stepped up our recycling efforts. |

We will join "Freecycle" and offer any items we no longer use instead of throwing it out (when possible). We have already started our veggie seeds, joined a CSA (can't wait for the Thursday boxes!)and the compost bin has been being used year round! |
| 77) Samuel's Group (30 people) -- Tour Wausau�s First Privately Owned Green Building in Celebration of Earth DayWausau, WI� April 15, 2008� In celebration of Earth Day on April 22, 2008, The Samuels Group, Wausau-based general contracting firm, will be hosting tours of their newly constructed corporate headquarters at 311 Financial Way, Wausau�s first privately owned LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) registered, green building. The Samuels Group�s new corporate headquarters is a veritable tour of green options from floor to ceiling. The tour offers visitors an up-close view of the earth-friendly, cost-saving, sustainable options that were built into 311 Financial Way. In addition to providing a glimpse of green building in a commercial setting, the tour will introduce visitors to green products and techniques that are available for their homes. Many of the green features used throughout the building can be used in residential buildings as well as commercial structures like 311. The Samuels Group will host four tours of the facility at the following times: 7 a.m., noon, 4 p.m., and 6 p.m. Tours will begin on the third floor and last approximately 30 minutes. All visitors are asked to park in the front of the building in the main parking lot. 71) Josiah, Colby. 2 person household. I will take a yoga class each week and work to remain healthy in my eating habits and sleeping habits. Sustainability starts with having the energy and presence of mind to do all of the little things that I know are good for my community and environment. If I am too tired, too anxious, or too stressed, I know that I will forget to turn the lights off and forget to recycle. |

68) Vickie RH, Wausau. 1 person. I pledge to use sustainable gardening techniques in my gardens and work toward a National Wildlife Federation "Certifed Wildlife Habitat" in my yard. |

67) Pat, Wausau. 2 persons. The Peckhams are buying a second backyard composting bin to have more room for winter food scraps after doing the fall raking. Pat is also riding the city bus several days a week and plans to offer free tokens and route advice to co-workers who live near bus lines. |

| 54) Kronenwetter Police Department (5) A monthly fuel usage -- whoever has the lowest usage on their police squad will receive a meal(s) from the Police Chief. Also the department is going to make a concerted effort to use both sides of print paper-- whenever applicable. |

46) New Day Church (150 participants) has planned a series so it would wrap up on April 27th and that way we can include both Earth Day and Arbor Day during the timeframe. We are looking for some action steps that our church can take to become more environmentally responsible. Some things that we will be either sponsoring or encouraging: Anyway, if anyone is interested in checking things out, we hold our services at 10:00 at DC Everest Middle School, 9302 Schofield Ave- Weston.
