The Commission for a Greener Tomorrow acknowledges its responsibility for leadership in creating a sustainable community.  A sustainable community respects its own diversity and accepts responsibility for the social, economic and ecological well-being of the present and future generations through individual and collective actions.

The Commission for a Greener Tomorrow's Action Teams welcome  more members, all citizens in Central Wisconsin who support the above vision statement are encouraged to join.

The Commission for a Greener Tomorrow was established in the summer of 2007 by the City of Wausau to encourage greater awareness of sustainability issues in the Greater Wausau area. Volunteers staff various teams dealing with issues ranging from waste and recycling to transportation, locally-produced food and clean water. The goal is to reduce waste, promote healthier lifestyles, adopt more environmentally-friendly practices and also capture cost savings where that is possible, too.

Commission members are available to speak with groups and organizations about Earth Month opportunities or the commissions role in general. For more information, please visit the www.gogreencentralwisconsin.com or call 715-261-6810.
